INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLY
- APPLICATION FORM Complete the Application Form and upload the corresponding documents. (please provide English translations where applicable).

REFERENCES FROM TEACHERS: You will be asked to provide the email addresses of your children’s current teachers, counselor, or section coordinators on the application form. The system automatically sends a “Confidential Student Reference Form” to the provided email addresses. We need a minimum of two forms per student, preferably three. - ADMISSION FEE. Once you complete the application form, we will send instructions for paying the 300,000 COP application fee. We will then contact you to schedule the admissions appointment, which is usually held on Fridays between 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 midday (Colombian time).
- What happens during the admissions appointment?
ONLINE OR ON SITE. Students in Colombia must come to the school on the admissions appointment day from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 midday. The whole process can be done online if they are applying from abroad.
a. STUDENT INTERVIEWS. Applicants will participate in different interviews/observations led by our specialists. Each interview lasts approximately 30 minutes, and each student will have three interviews.
b.PARENTS INTERVIEW Parents will have a 30-minute interview with our counsellor, usually scheduled on the same day. Both parents/legal guardians need to attend this interview.
c.OBSERVATION PRESCHOOL STUDENTS Our specialists will observe applicants applying to preschool (Nursery, Reception, Year 1, and Year 2) to check their motor skills, language skills, and independence.
d. ENTRY TESTS Students applying for Year 3 up to Year 13 must complete two tests: the iDAT and a writing test.
Additional instructions for students applying online.
- The tests and interviews can be taken from home, and one of the parents can act as the “proctor.”
- In order to receive the test instructions, the proctor must complete the following Proctor Agreement, and the parents must complete the Commitment Letter.
- The day before the admissions appointment, usually on a Thursday, the proctor will receive the test instructions and the Google Hangout link so the student applicants and parents can join the online admissions interviews.
- Applicant students and parents will participate in different interviews/observations led by our specialists. Each interview lasts approximately 30 minutes. The tests
Year 3 to Year 13 students
- The applicant student must complete the test at a time convenient for the family within 3-4 days. Please be aware that the tests have an expiration date.
- The iDAT test. Please provide a quiet place where the student can take the test without interruptions and with no help. An additional device (iPad, tablet, or cellphone) is required to record the student during the test. The student should have a sheet of paper, a pencil, and a calculator. The test takes one hour and a half. The proctor should read the following instructions before conducting the iDAT test: IDAT Secure 360 – Setup steps and Test Taker Handbook.
- The Writing Test will be sent as an attachment. Once the task has been completed, the proctor must scan it and send it back to reception@cgb.edu.co
Preschool Students
- Students applying for preschool (Nursery, Reception, Year 1, and Year 2) will receive some worksheets sent by the school, which must be printed by the examiner in advance. The exercises or tests must be completed online together with our specialists, and not before. Once the test is completed, all sheets must be scanned and sent to reception@cgb.edu.co as soon as possible.
- Students applying for Nursery or Reception (ages 3 and 4) must also have scissors, paper, the child’s favourite toy and book, and possibly a collection of small toys.
The Admissions Committee meets every Wednesday to review the applications. If the paperwork is incomplete, the committee will review it the following week.
Once the school grants acceptance, we will email the instructions for matriculation, and parents must complete the enrollment process within two weeks.
Children may start school three days after matriculation has taken place, i.e. payments have been made, and contracts have been duly signed and submitted to the school’s office.
