Child Protection and Safeguarding
AT CGB we know that if our children are not safe, they cannot learn. Child Protection and Safeguarding are not “bolt-ons” for us – they are at the centre of everything we do.
All teachers at CGB complete yearly training and gain a qualification in the area of Child Protection and Safeguarding. Every single person who comes into contact with children receives face to face training from the Director, Vice-Rector, Head of Primary and Director of Admissions – in either English or Spanish. We have a robust policy, that is reviewed and updated every year. This allows us all to refer to it when we need to, and to report anything that seems unusual to build a bigger picture of what might, or might not, be happening. For more information, please read the Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy here.
Even before staff arrive at CGB, we have policy to ensure that we recruit as safely as possible. For our Safer Recruitment Policy, please click here.
We are proud to be accredited by both CIS and NEASC – the former is one of the founding members of the International Taskforce on Child Protection. The LAHC, of which we are members also sits on this important global taskforce. Currently, our Director, Suzanne McLean, is a member of the LAHC Executive Committee and represents the LAHC on this Taskforce.
CGB is committed to the protection and safeguarding of all of our children and students.
